I can still vividly recall the impressive rural fair held in my
grandparents’ village. When I was a little child I lived with my grandparents
for a long time and every Sunday’s fair was my most awaited activity. It was different
from the traditional night market, for it held during the day time. Although it
only held once a week, people still paid attention to the big event and almost
everyone would join it. On Sunday morning, the town hummed with activity and
life. People started to arrange their stall very early. They sold various kinds
of things and some even out of our imagination; it was both novel and
interesting. Some were their own collections and others were delicate novelties
they made. As long as you were willing to spend some time, you would find the
things you like. And of course, there were plenty of games and snacks that
children liked best. Among them I thought the “guess lattice” game was the most
special one. It was not only interesting but also full of randomness. There
would be about ten lattices covered with newspaper, you could randomly choose
one and got the thing in it. Although there were not expensive things, all it
had were just stickers, candies or small toys, I still love it. It was just the
kind of feeling that no one know what you would get makes me so indulged in
that game. And as for me, the most delicious food in the rural fair was the
grilled squid. It was so popular that you need to queue for a long time to get
one. The spice they used was special, it not only kept the squid remained its fresh
tastes, but also salty and spicy. Every time I went for the rural fair, I would
buy a few strings of it. I loved it so much. But sadly, when I left the village,
I never eat such delicious grilled squid any more. The unique flavor sticks in
my mind forever and has been a part of lovely memory of the rural fair.
A good descriptive paragraph! The game is interesting and the food is so delicious!
